(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Monday July 12, 2010, Perth County OPP officers were called to a single motor vehicle crash on Line 45 North of Shakespeare.
Police investigation revealed that at 8:30 p.m. a full sized passenger van was being driven west bound on Line 45, a gravel road. The driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to swerved and enter the south ditch where it rolled and came to rest against a hydro pole.
The 3 passengers of the van aged, four, eight and 14 were transported by family to hospital in Kitchener as a precautionary measure. The four year old male child was the only one to receive treatment for minor injuries. The 16 year old female driver from the Township of Perth East has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with a G1 licence while unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
A Hydro One crew attended and secured the pole which sustained heavy damage. The crash did not result in a power outage or downed lines.
