On Friday September 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m Police and Fire were called to the Dollarama Store located at 462 Albert Street in Waterloo. A fire started inside the store, which was open at the time and full of employees and customers. The fire spread throughout the store quickly and became fully engulfed in flames. Neighbouring stores in the plaza, as well as residences close by, were evacuated for safety reasons. On September 12, 2015, a 14 year old Waterloo residence was arrested for Arson – Endangering Human Life and Possession of an Incendiary Device. He attended a bail hearing on September 13, 2015. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office attended and assisted in the investigation.
