(STURGEON FALLS, ON)- The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) has concluded a six month investigation into a local group of individuals distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine in the communities of Thorne and Sturgeon Falls.
Over the course of the investigation, dubbed Project Consort, undercover officers were utilized to make several drug purchases of methamphetamine and cocaine. Three search warrants were also executed during the investigation with the assistance of the West Nipissing Police Service.
10,000 methamphetamine tablets, 175 grams of cocaine, 1,450 grams of marihuana, 70 marihuana plants and $6,500 in cash was purchased and seized during the investigation. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $131,500.
As a result of the investigation, the following people have been charged:
Daniel RENEAUD, age 24 of Sturgeon Falls,
Conspiracy to Traffic in a Scheduled 1 Substance contrary to section 465 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 12 Counts
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada – 9 Counts.
He has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
Stephanie SENECAL, age 31 of Sturgeon Falls,
Conspiracy to Traffic in a Schedule 1 Substance contrary to section 465(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 4 Counts
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking contrary to section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 2 Counts
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada – 2 Counts.
She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on December 27, 2016.

Maxime DUFRESNE, age 26 of Sturgeon Falls,
Conspiracy to Traffic in a Scheduled 1 Substance contrary to section 465(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 3 Counts
Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 2 Counts
Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – 2 Counts
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
These two individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on November 29, 2016.
