(ZORRA TOWNSHIP, ON.) – Officers from the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a residential alarm on Alison Road in Thamesford on November 24, 2014. Responding officers observed a sizeable amount of suspected drugs within the residence, which was then secured and a warrant obtained to continue with the investigation.
The OPP Drug Enforcement Unit, Oxford County Street Team and Oxford County OPP members conducted a search warrant at the residence on November 24, 2014 in the Village of Thamesford.
The warrant led to the seizure of marihuana, cannabis resin (hashish and oil) and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) with an estimated value of $13,060.
OPP arrested and charged two people as a result of this investigation.
Charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following are, 47 year old male John HAMILTON and 44 year old female Sandy FORD, both of Thamesford:
Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams
Possession of a Schedule III substance
Produce a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana
Possession of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Resin – under 1 gram
Produce a Schedule II substance – other than marihuana
Obstruct Peace Officer – Criminal Code of Canada
Both were release on a Promise to Appear with a future court date in Woodstock.
