(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – On July 9, 2015 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Street Crime Unit (SCU) along with Wellington County OPP Major Crime Unit, West Region OPP Drug Enforcement Unit, West Region OPP Community Drug Action Team (CDAT), West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit (TMU), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a commercial property located on Thompson Road, Town of Erin. The Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services and Ontario Hydro One also attended to assist.
As a result of the warrant, the investigative team arrested a man at the location of a two-storey sophisticated marihuana grow operation, which included a process installed to avoid electricity usage. Police seized approximately 1300 marihuana plants, processed marihuana, growing equipment and a 2012 Kia Optima.
Charged is 35-year-old Richard MADORE of Oakville with;
Produce Marihuana-Controlled Drugs & Substances Act-(C.D.S.A.)
Possession Marihuana – over 3 kilograms-C.D.S.A.
Possession of Cannabis Resin – over 1 gram-C.D.S.A.
Theft Of Electricity (Telecommunication Service)-Criminal Code
He is scheduled for Bail Court in Guelph on July 10, 2015.
