11 Year Old Sent To Hospital With Head Injuries – Thomas HACKETT Charged

(TOWNSHIP OF ADJALA-TOSORONTIO)- At approximately 9:00pm, Sunday, August 21, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted by Stevenson Hospital regarding an 11 year old male who was brought to the emergency department with head injuries as a result of an ATV collision.

Investigation reveals that the boy, along with his sister, had gone out on a trail just off the 6th Concession of Adjala-Tosorontio, with their 32 year old uncle, of Brampton, driving the vehicle. As they crested a hill they collided with an oncoming ATV being driven by Thomas HACKETT, age 42, of Alliston. The collision occurred at approximately 6:30pm.

As a result of the collision, the 11 year old boy is being treated at a Toronto area trauma centre with serious non- life threatening injuries.

HACKET has been charged with Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice for a September Court date.
