(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On December 12, 2016 at approximately 3:15 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Southgate Sideroad 73 in the Township of Southgate involving a 2014 Ford 150 pick-up truck and a horse-drawn vehicle. Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS) and the Dundalk Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Investigation revealed that both vehicles had been travelling southbound on Southgate Sideroad 73. The collision occurred when the operator of the horse-drawn vehicle attempted to make a U-turn in the roadway. The operator, an 11-year old boy and a 14-year old male passenger, both from the Township of Southgate, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The horse was unharmed.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a 30-year old female from Grey Highlands, and her passengers ages 9, 5 and 2, were not injured.
There were no charges in this incident.
