Waasmo Bradford Facing Assault With Weapon & Robbery Charges

On September 7, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit charged 29-year-old Waasmo Bradford with assault with a weapon, robbery, personation, and other offences.

On August 31, 2026, officers patrolling the 100 block of East Street saw an individual on private property and instructed them to identify themself. The individual identified themself with a name that a later investigation determined not to be theirs. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.

On September 6, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of mischief to, and theft from, a vehicle in the 100 block of Bay Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused broke the window of a vehicle and stole items from inside.

Around 7:45 a.m. on September 7, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of another theft in the 100 block of Bay Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed a victim saw the accused stealing their belongings from their vehicle and, when the victim confronted them, the accused attempted to strike them with a hammer and verbally threatened them. The victim and accused are not known to one another.

Officers located the accused two hours later, and they were arrested. Upon searching the accused, officers located some of the victim’s belongings, as well as a concealed hammer, knife, and screwdriver.

The accused is charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x8
  • Mischief – Under $5,000
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest, Prosecution, or Obstruct Justice (Identity Fraud)
  • Possession Break In Instruments
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Robbery
  • Theft – Under $5,000
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
