On September 3, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit charged 61-year-old Darryl Colynuck with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Around 11:30 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a disturbance in the area of Albert Street East and Gore Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused attempted to strike a victim with a broom and a metal pole while verbally threatening to harm them. The victim and accused are known to one another. The accused was arrested. No physical injuries were reported.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 23, 2026.
