Train Vs Pedestrian Collision

(INGERSOLL, ON) – On November 21, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision on Thames Street, Ingersoll.

Members of OPP, Ingersoll Fire Services and Oxford County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the railway tracks on Thames Street between Victoria Street and St. Andrew Street.

Investigation determined that a 78-year-old pedestrian was struck by a train and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was closed for approximately four hours for investigation.

Oxford OPP, Canadian National (CN) Rail Police and the Office of the Chief Coroner continue to investigate.
