(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On May 22, 2023, at 6:26 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Hamilton Road in Thames Centre, for the report of a suspicious person complaint.
Officers arrived on scene and observed two suspicious people standing with a disabled vehicle on the roadway.
As police investigated, one of the individuals fled on foot, but was quickly caught after a short foot pursuit and was arrested without further incident.
It was determined the vehicle had previously been reported stolen out of London.
As a result, Dion FORD, a 47-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Obstruct Peace Officer
As a result, Alexandra VONDETTE, a 29-year-old of Thames Centre, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 11, 2023.
