OPP Busy In Middlesex Over Weekend

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – Over the course of the weekend, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were busy doing their part to keep our communities safe. 

(NORTH MIDDLESEX) – Traffic stop results in impaired charge

On August 7, 2022, at 10:25 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County OPP, while on general patrol, observed a suspicious vehicle on Parkhill Main Street, Parkhill, North Middlesex.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Mark TEDBALL, a 43-year-old of Parkhill, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE) – Suspicious vehicle leads to impaired by drug charge

On August 6, 2022, at 10:42 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Egremont Drive at Vanneck Road, Middlesex Centre.

A Standard Field Sobriety Test was administered at roadside.

As a result, Natasha HOCKLEY a 32-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with

  • Operation while impaired – drugs

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE) – Break & Enter to barn on rural property

On August 6, 2022, at 12:43 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a rural property on Oxbow Drive, east of Nairn Road, for the report of a break and enter to a barn on the property.

At this time, it appears a chainsaw was taken by unknown suspect(s).

The investigation is continuing.

(STRATHROY-CARADOC) – Impaired charges for two after traffic complaint

On August 6, 2022, at 9:19 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Highway 402, Strathroy-Caradoc, after receiving a complaint from a member of the public of a possible impaired driver in the eastbound lanes.

Officers arrived on scene and initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle had pulled over to make a driver swap.

As a result, Malik COOKE, a 40-year-old of St. Catharines, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

As a result, Lemarcquis COOKE, a 19-year-old of St. Catharines, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX) – Disturbance at local bar results in criminal charges

On August 6, 2022, at 1:38 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address on Main Street in Glencoe, Southwest Middlesex, for the report of a disturbance at a local bar, between multiple individuals.

As a result, Callie CAMPBELL, a 30-year-old of Mount Brydges, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with A Weapon (three counts)

As a result, Ashley DRAKE, a 30-year-old of St. Thomas, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with A Weapon (three counts)
  • Mischief Over $5,000

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE) – RIDE program results in Stolen Vehicle charges

On August 5, 2022, at 12:33 a.m., Middlesex County OPP officers were engaged in a RIDE program on Longwoods Road, Middlesex Centre when a suspicious vehicle entered.

Investigation revealed the licence plates and vehicle had both previously been reported stolen, at which time both occupants were taken into custody without incident.

Tracey LAPOINTE, a 44-year-old of No Fixed Address, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada (two counts)
  • Possession of an identity document
  • Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.

As a result, Shawn MOYER, a 38-year-old of Sarnia, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (Identity fraud)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
