(DAWN-EUPHEMIA, ON) – An individual faces multiple charges after failing to stop for police during an early morning traffic stop.
On June 17, 2025, just after 1:15 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attempted to stop a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Bentpath Line, west of Annett Road in Dawn-Euphemia Township. The driver failed to stop and made contact with a police vehicle, causing significant damage before fleeing the scene.
As a result of the investigation, Randolph OSSEL, a 33-year-old of no fixed address, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Obstruct peace officer
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Assault a peace officer with a weapon
- Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.
There were no injuries reported.
Bentpath Line was closed for several hours between Shetland Road and Annett Road to allow for the investigation but has since reopened.
