Kourtnie SANDERSON Was Arrested

(BALMERTOWN, ON) – A traffic stop has resulted in one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On April 14, 2024, just after 3:30 a.m., members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle in the area of Dickenson Road in Balmertown.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kourtnie SANDERSON, 29-years-old, of Balmertown, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop – two counts

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on June 20, 2024.
