Kaitlind Smith Arrested Again

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment, have laid multiple charges against a driver from Gatineau, after vehicle entered a ditch along Highway 416.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on April 20 2024, OPP officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision along Highway 416 near Hunt Club. The vehicle had also struck a tree. 

The driver, Kaitlind Smith, age 31, was arrested for impaired driving and has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation While Impaired: Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code – three counts
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The OPP would like to thank members of the public that continue to call in possible impaired drivers, which helps to keep all Ontario roads safer for the motoring public.
