(Middlesex Centre, ON) – On June 18, 2021 at 12:15 p.m., Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police, along with Middlesex-London EMS and Middlesex Centre Fire, were dispatched to the intersection of Hyde Park road and Medway Road, Middlesex Centre, for the report of a single motor vehicle collision.
After a short foot pursuit, the lone occupant in the vehicle was located and arrested, not far from the scene.
The vehicle had previously been reported stolen by the Woodstock Police Service.
Jeffery EMMONS, a 37-year-old from London has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code, section 320.18(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (two counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is being held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in London on June 19, 2021.
The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately
