Seaforth Methamphetamine Bust – Mathew SCHRAEDER

(HURON EAST, ON) – A driver from Clinton is facing an Impaired Driving charge following a traffic investigation conducted yesterday by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).   

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on June 10, 2021 Huron County OPP officers were asked to check on two occupants of a vehicle that appeared to be unconscious. Officers approached the car that was on Main Street in Seaforth and noticed both the driver and passenger sleeping in the vehicle. Upon closer inspection the investigating officer noticed the vehicle was not in park and the engine was running.

Upon waking up the driver officers noted the driver was displaying several signs that he was impaired by a drug. As such, the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. The driver was transported to the Walkerton OPP Detachment where he performed further testing conducted by a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE). Upon completion of the tests the driver was deemed to be impaired by a drug.

Mathew SCHRAEDER, 36 years of age from Clinton has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine.

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 11, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
