Pervert Alert: Eric McLACHLAN – Child Pornography

(ORONO, ON) – On April 20, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Digital Forensics and Durham Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Orono, Ontario following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.

As a result of this investigation, 44-year old Eric McLACHLAN was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, accessing pornography, and distributing child pornography. Two devices were seized for further examination.

The accused was scheduled to appear for appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa on April 20, 2021.

This collaboration, between partner agencies in Ontario’s Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet, is another example of how investigators work to ensure ‘Every Child Matters Everywhere’.  Internet Child Exploitation investigators, from across Ontario, strive to keep children safe and hold offenders accountable.

Police encourage anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children, to go to protectchildren.ca and download the “Child Sexual Abuse – It Is Your Business” brochure from the Canadian Center for Child Protection. This is an important first step that can save a child.

This is horrible. His father, Duncan and grandfather, Jimmie, would be mortified. I am glad they are both deceased. I feel for his mother and daughters. He is my second cousin although we’ve never met. Some people go astray in today’s world.
