Morris-Turnberry Resident Facing Drunk Driving Charge – Name Released

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A Morris-Turnberry resident is facing an Impaired Operation charge following an investigation conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On December 27, 2021 at 1:30 a.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling on Brussels Line when the officer came across a pickup truck that was stopped in the live lane of traffic. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer observed a driver that appeared to be sleeping. The officer was able to get the driver’s attention and upon speaking with him the officer observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Further, the officer noted the driver was displaying several signs of impairment.

As a result, the driver was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver provided two samples of breath to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

Bradley VANNIEKERK, 42 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Operation While Impaired. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 14, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
