(NORTH HURON, ON) – A resident of Wingham is facing a number of charges after police got called about a suspicious male slouched over in a parked pickup truck.
Shortly after 8:03 a.m. on October 12, 2021 Huron OPP officers responded to Charles Street in Wingham to check on the driver of a pickup truck. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and had the occasion to speak with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver police noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment through a drug.
Upon arrest police conducted a search and found a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
The driver was subsequently evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and he was deemed to be impaired by a drug.
Calvin THOMSON, 23 years of age from Wingham has been charged with Impaired Operation, Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine and Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance.
The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 6, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
