(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On August 9, 2021, just before 10:00 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was requested to attend the parking lot of a local business on Mitchell Road South in Listowel, after a vehicle appeared to have been in a minor collision, causing some property damage.
An investigation was initiated and a Standard Field Sobriety Test was conducted. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment where further tests were completed.
As a result, Kyle JANES, a 29-year-old of Tiverton, has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
A 90-day driving suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused in this matter was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
The vehicle passenger, Bernard PAQUETTE, a 57-year-old of Southwold Township, was also arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I – Methamphetamine
