NORTH HURON, ON) – A resident of Hanover is facing a charge of trafficking methamphetamine following a vehicle stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) yesterday afternoon.
On August 23, 2021 at approximately 12:46 p.m. members of the Huron OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) stopped a motorcycle on Josephine Street in Wingham for having an unauthorized licence plate attached to the bike.
Officers arrested the driver and a search incident to arrest revealed the driver was in possession of a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug trafficking paraphernalia consisting of a cell phone and cash.
The estimated street value of the seized methamphetamine is $22,630.
Donald MITCHELL, 37 years of age from Hanover has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking and Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 18, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
