Homeowner Scares Off Criminals

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at approximately 3:47 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County Detachment responded to a 911 emergency call for a vehicle entry in progress at a Chamberlain Avenue, Ingersoll address.

It was determined that a homeowner woke to find three unknown individuals inside their vehicle and immediately went outside and confronted them. All three then fled from the area in an unknown direction. It does appear that anything was taken during the incident and police are reminding all owners to lock their vehicles and removed valuables.

The OPP is urging all community members to report suspicious activity immediately by calling 1-888-310-1122 or if a crime is in progress 9-1-1.
