HALLAHAN Arrested New Year’s Day

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – It didn’t take long for Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to lay their first Impaired Operation charge of 2021. A traffic stop at approximately 1:40 a.m. on New Year’s Day resulted in an arrest and a charge for a Morris-Turnberry resident.

Huron County OPP officers were patrolling in Morris-Turnberry when they spotted a vehicle making a wide turn from Moncrieff Road onto London Road. A traffic stop was initiated and police spoke with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was performed and the driver registered a fail.

Upon failing his test he was taken into custody and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were analyzed by the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit.

Paul HALLAHAN, 50 years of age from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80) Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 15, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
