Goderich Robbery Update: Arrests Made

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime Unit continues to investigate a robbery that took place in Goderich on January 23, 2023, at a business on Huron Road.

On Monday, January 23, 2023, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Huron County OPP was contacted by a store manager who called to report a robbery that had just taken place. Two suspects, a male and female had reportedly stolen numerous items from the store and loaded the items into a smaller SUV just outside the building. During the robbery, the male suspect brandished a knife and threatened the employees who had given chase after the thieves. The male suspect also threatened the employees with a gun; however, one was not observed. The vehicle was last seen travelling at a high rate of speed through the parking lot and eastbound onto Huron Road leaving Goderich.

After viewing media posts yesterday, two very observant citizens contacted the Huron OPP advising of the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle, and two suspects involved in this investigation. Police were able to locate and arrest both suspects who are now facing criminal charges. The suspect Chevrolet Tracker has been seized pending further investigation.
