Drunk Driver Arrested Near Wingham – John MACGREGOR

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) early this morning.

This morning at approximately 1:42 a.m. (05May) a Huron County OPP officer stopped a pickup truck south of Wingham after he noticed it matched the description of a vehicle that was seen earlier by a citizen travelling in an erratic manner.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As a result, the driver completed a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail”.

Consequently, the driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests.  Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.
