(MIDDLESEX, ON) – On Sunday, December 7, 2020 at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the London Police Service (LPS) Guns and Drugs Section, completed an investigation into drug smuggling at the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre (EMDC) in the City of London.
Police located two suspects on Meg Drive in possession of a remotely-controlled drone and a large quantity of controlled substances, including: crack cocaine, Adderall, amphetamines, fentanyl, crystal meth and cannabis and a quantity of Canadian currency.
Police have charged Abdulla-Walid KADDOURAH,28-years-old of London, ON with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine as per section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine as per section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) as per Section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs as per section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Two counts of Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling as per section 10(2) of the Cannabis Act (CA).
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court as per section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).
Police have also charged Fiseha GIRMAY,18-years-old London, ON with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine as per section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine as per section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin) as per Section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Two counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs as per section 5(2) of the CDSA.
- Two counts of Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling as per section 10(2) of the Cannabis Act (CA).
Both parties have been remanded into police custody and are scheduled to appear in the London, Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on December 7, 2020.
