Cocaine A Factor In Collision/Fight

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Two people have been charged following a collision on Perth Road 164 in the Municipality of North Perth.

On May 7, 2022, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth Road 164 in North Perth as a result of a domestic dispute.

The driver of the vehicle told police that they had an argument with the passenger. Subsequently the passenger grabbed the driver’s arm causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and entered the ditch. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

During the investigation, the occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of drugs.

The driver, a 21-year-old resident of Palmerston, has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine

–      Drive motor vehicle- no licence

The passenger, a 21-year-old resident of Palmerston, has been charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine

–      Assault – Spousal

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
