Another Armed Robbery

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate an early morning robbery of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) that took place last week near Mount Carmel.

On July 15, 2022, at 3:47 a.m. Huron County OPP officers responded to a 911 call for assistance at a residence located on Bronson Line after learning two suspects attended the property to steal an ATV.

When the family members were awakened to the sound of the ATV engine starting up in the garage they quickly went to the garage where they observed two masked suspects attempting to steal their ATV. The suspects brandished a knife and fled the scene, one on the ATV, the other on foot.

Several officers including an OPP Canine Unit attended the scene and began an extensive search for the suspects.  Approximately one hour later police received a report that a sport utility vehicle had been stolen from a nearby residence. Police started patrolling for the suspect vehicle and shortly after police located the suspect vehicle in Parkhill. Police converged on the vehicle and were able to arrest one of the suspects without incident.

The stolen ATV was also recovered.
