72 Year Old Drunk Driver Passes Fully Marked Cruiser

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a prohibited driver for stunt driving while impaired – after they passed a fully marked police cruiser.

On April 26, 2022, just before 2:30 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on Huron Road, in the Township of Perth East, after a vehicle had passed the officer at an excessive speed. The driver was found to be travelling in excess of 65km/hr over the speed limit.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment and was arrested. They were transported to a local operations centre for further testing. The officer also learned the driver was prohibited from driving, and the licence plates attached to the vehicle were stolen.

Peter INDRILIUNAS, 72, of Southampton, has been charged with:

–      Operation while impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

–      Operation while Prohibited Under the Criminal Code

–      Race a motor vehicle – excessive speed

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 45-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
