64 Year Old From Blyth Caught Going 50+ Over Speed Limit

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A resident of Blyth has been charged under the Stunt Driving legislation after getting stopped yesterday by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on July 28, 2021 a Huron OPP officer was patrolling southbound on London Road when a pickup truck was observed passing a car a high rate of speed travelling northbound. A RADAR device was used to measure the speed of the vehicle at a rate in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 90 km/h zone. 

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently charged. Michael WALSH, 64 years of age, from Blyth has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Speeding by 50 km/h or more. The defendant will now have to attend court on September 21, 2021 at Provincial Offences Court in Goderich to answer to the charge. 

A seven day driver’s licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment is now in effect.

That is a ridiculous charge by the road warrior OPP. When you are passing a vehicle sometimes you have to speed to get by. And that’s when they nail you. Dosen’t matter if the other vehicle was racing and not letting you pass.
