4 More Impaired Charges

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Four more people have been charged with impaired related offences in Perth County, and each was located by a different circumstance.

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program on June 10, 2022, just after 12:30 a.m., on Main Street North, in Perth East, when a vehicle stop was conducted. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device was used, and they were arrested, and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Dale GOSSE, 60, of Debert, has been charged with:

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

On June 12, 2022, just before 3:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle after they observed concerning driving behavior on Perth Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth.

During the investigation, it became apparent the driver had consumed alcohol and was showing signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Quinn BUCHANAN, 23, of Perth South, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

On June 15, 2022, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Perth-Oxford Road in the Township of Perth East.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

Delbert REYES, 27, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

–       Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

 On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:38 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Line 34 in the Township of Perth East.

During the investigation, the driver was showing signs of impairment. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was completed. The driver was arrested and transported to a local police Detachment for further testing by a Drug Recognition Evaluator.

As a result, Tonya LEDERMAN, 43, of Baden, has been charged with:

–       Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

All of the accused parties were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
