35 Year Old From Goderich Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with Impaired Operation – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint stop that took place in Clinton earlier this month.

On Friday, June 3, 2022, at approximately 10:54 p.m. Huron OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks on Princess Street East when a sport utility vehicle entered the checkpoint. In speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. As a result, a roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail.

The driver was then placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit.

Kathryn MCCABE, 35 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 4, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
