(LONDON, ON) – Driver charged after cruiser struck during traffic stop.
On January 6, 2026, at 7:22 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while travelling through the City of London, observed a vehicle perform a traffic violation at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Bradley Avenue.
A traffic stop was initiated. During the stop the accused reversed into the OPP cruiser causing minor damage to both vehicles.
There were no injuries reported.
As a result, a 35-year-old of London has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Red light – fail to stop
- Careless Driving
- CAIA 3(1) Fail to surrender insurance card
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Traffic Court to speak to the charges at a later date.
