32 Year Old Passed Out Driver From South Huron Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a South Huron resident with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that took place in Crediton earlier this month. 

On Thursday, June 2, 2022 at approximately 12:39 p.m. Huron OPP officers received a call about a vehicle that was being operated in Crediton in a very erratic manner. Officers immediately began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and soon after it was spotted parked at a residence located on Victoria Street East. 

Officers walked up to the vehicle and noticed the driver was sleeping in the driver’s seat. Upon waking the driver, officers noted the male had been drinking alcohol and was displaying serval signs of impairment. 

The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be over the legal limit. 

Michael REGIER, 32 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 25, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
