(NORTH HURON, ON) – A Teeswater resident will be making a trip back to Huron County for a court date later this spring following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this week.
On Monday, April 4, 2022 at approximately 8:47 p.m., a Huron OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement patrols in Belgrave when a pickup truck was observed travelling northbound on London Road at a very high rate of speed.
The officer utilized a RADAR device and was able to obtain a speed reading of the pickup in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 50 km/h speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.
Mitchell LEYEN, 28 years of age from Teeswater has been charged with Perform a Stunt – Speeding. The defendant will now have to attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich to answer to the charge.
Additionally, the pickup has been impounded for 14 days and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension has been applied to the driver.
