27 Year Old From Blyth Facing Impaired Charge Following Head-on Collision

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A Blyth resident will be making a trip to court later this fall to answer to an Impaired Operation charge laid by police early this morning (01Oct).

Just after 1:00 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle head-on crash near the intersection of Bayfield Road and Forest Ridge Road.

Upon arrival police determined the accused had driven her vehicle into a parked pickup truck causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. As such the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both were found to be over the legal limit.

Brittany DE MEDEIROS, 27 years of age, from Blyth has been charged with Impaired Operation. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 1, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

The accused was served with an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was also impounded.
