24 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Stratford resident with Impaired Operation.

On Saturday, September 18, 2021 at approximately 4:30 p.m. Huron OPP officers received two separate calls about a compact car that was travelling westbound from Clinton on Highway 8 in an erratic manner. 

OPP officers immediately began patrolling for the suspect vehicle and shortly thereafter police located the suspect vehicle parked at a residence located on Iron Springs Road. The investigating officer then located and spoke with the driver.  Upon doing so the officer noted several signs of impairment. As such the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation.

The driver was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment and two breath samples were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician. Both tests were found to be over the legal limit.

Brandon TAYLOR, 24 years of age from Stratford has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 4, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

An automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension has been served on the driver and his vehicle was impounded.
