18 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A resident of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is facing an Over 80 charge following a traffic stop that took place last week.

On Friday, January 14, 2022 at approximately 4:20 p.m. a member from the West Region OPP (Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement) TIME team initiated a traffic stop of a car in Clinton for an improperly displayed licence plate.

While speaking with the novice driver the investigating officer observed open alcohol inside the vehicle.  As a result of this, a roadside screening test was conducted on the driver and he registered a fail. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing. The accused later provided two samples of breath to the qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were found to be above the legal limit.

Cole POLLARD, 18 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus, Drive Motor Vehicle Plate Improperly Displayed, Novice Driver BAC Above Zero and Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor.

The accused has a court appearance now scheduled for February 14, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
