Another Stabbing – Guelph Epicenter Of Lawlessness

A Guelph man was arrested after another man was stabbed twice Thursday night.

Just after 11 p.m. police were called for reports of an injured male on Gordon Street near Nottingham Street. As officers arrived they spotted the suspect standing a short distance away. He was arrested following a short foot pursuit and a folding knife was found in his jacket pocket.

Investigation revealed the two males are known to each other and had been involved in a verbal altercation downtown earlier in the day.

The victim sustained injuries to his chest and abdomen. He was transported to a Hamilton trauma centre for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 28-year-old Guelph man is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of breaching a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
