Another OPP Detachment Caught Their 4 Drunk Drivers #QuotaFilled #RestOfYearOff

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested four drivers over the Easter weekend with alcohol related driving offences.

On March 30, 2024, at approximately 2:25 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle failing to stop for a stop sign on Albert Street in the Municipality of Leamington. 

Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. After speaking with the driver, it was suspected the driver had consumed alcohol, a demand to complete roadside approved screening device (ASD) test was made. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest, and taken into custody.

Yuridiana DELGADO-GONZALEZ, 34 years-of-age, of Leamington, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) S.320.14(1)(b) CC

·        Drive motor vehicle – no licence S. 32(1) HTA

·        Fail to Obey traffic control stop sign S.146.1(3) HTA

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on April 16, 2024, to answer to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

On March 30, 2024, at approximately 2:39 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle travelling in excess of 145 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 3 in the Town of Essex.

The investigating officer conducted a traffic stop, suspected the driver had consumed alcohol and demanded a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest, and taken into custody.

As a result, Cyril TAYVIAH, 36 years-of-age, of Kingsville, has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol S.320.14(1)(a) CC

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) S.320.14(1)(b) CC

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed S.172(1) HTA

·        Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on April 22, 2024, to answer to the impaired charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 14-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

On March 31, 2024, at approximately 12:38 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically on County Road 22 in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The investigating officer conducted a traffic stop, suspected the driver had consumed alcohol and demanded a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test. As a result, the driver was placed under arrest, and taken into custody.

As a result, Rene ALMEIDA, 59 years-of-age, of Windsor, has been charged with:

·                                  Operation while impaired – alcohol S.320.14(1)(a)

·                                  Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) S.320.14(1)(b)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on April 9, 2024, to answer to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

On March 31, 2024, at approximately 2:01 a.m., officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically on County Road 22 in the Town of Tecumseh.

The investigating officer followed the vehicle to a residence, where the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to evade the officer before being arrested.

As a result, Pathal SATNAM SIGH, 36 years-of-age, of Tecumseh, has been charged with:

·                                  Operation while impaired – alcohol S.320.14(1)(a)

·                                  Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) S.320.14(1)(b)

·                                  Resist Peace Officer S.129(a)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on April 11, 2024, to answer to the charges.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
