The Hamilton Police Service is actively searching for a wanted party who escaped police custody in the area of Main Street East and Grant Avenue in Central Hamilton.
On Thursday April 23, 2026 at approximately 1:00 AM, Hamilton Police were conducting an investigation at which time, 18-year-old Sultan Aldarwish was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Fail to Comply Release Order stemming from shoplifting offences. Sultan Aldarwish was also under arrest for new charges for Fail to Comply Release Order. Sultan Aldarwish was handcuffed when he escaped Police custody.
Hamilton Police mobilized numerous officers and a K9 Unit to search the area. The last confirmed location for Sultan Aldarwish was in the area of Barton Street East and Leeming Street.
Sultan Aldarwish is described as:

- Middle Eastern
- 6’1”
- 168 lbs
- brown eyes
- long black curly hair
- small goatee and thin moustache
- wearing a black Moose Knuckle jacket, black short, and black shoes
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Sultan Aldarwish, anyone with information on Sultan Aldarwish’s whereabouts are asked to contact Hamilton Police immediately.
