(LEAMINGTON, ON) – On December 15, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., a homeowner awoke to find a man standing in her home on Fischer Crescent in Leamington, Ontario.
When confronted, the male fled on foot with the woman’s purse in hand.
Police attended and immediately contained the area. An extensive search of the neighbourhood led to the suspect being located and arrested after a short foot chase approximately 2 hours later.
Through investigation, a number of other thefts in the Essex County area were discovered and alleged to have been committed by the same man.
Jonathan GROSSE, age 24 of Windsor, Ontario remains in custody and has been charged with the following offences:
Break and Enter and Commit Indictable Offence x 4
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
Fail To Comply With Probation Order x 2
Theft of motor vehicle
