(CHESLEY, ON) – On December 24, 2016 at 8:32 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol along 2nd Avenue south east in Chesley when a wanted male was observed. The officer placed the man under arrest, but he resisted and ran from police. The area was searched with the assistance of the OPP Canine Unit and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, but the man was not located.
On December 26, 2016 at 3:47 p.m., the male was observed again on 2nd Avenue south east in Chesley. The man was placed under arrest, but he refused to cooperate with the officer. A Conducted Energy Weapon was used and the man was taken into custody without further incident.
Thirty-four-year old Timothy JACOBS of Arran-Edlerslie Township has been charged with resist peace officer, disarm peace officer and fail to comply with recognizance. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.
