William SHORTT – Drunk Driving

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON)– County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a vehicle striking another vehicle in a private parking lot on King Edward Street in Paris in the County of Brant on January 15, 2017 at approximately 9:25 p.m. then leaving the area.

County of Brant OPP responded and located the vehicle on Grand River Street South in Paris in the County of Brant.

Police determined through investigation that the driver of the red 2012 Toyota Corolla had consumed alcohol and was operating his vehicle while impaired.

OPP investigators have charged 32-year-old William SHORTT of the County of Brant with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:

Driving with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)

Driving While Ability Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
