Stormont Dundas Press Releases

(South Stormont) – On January 18, 2017 at approximately 4:53am, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Moulinette Road, South Stormont Township. A check of the vehicle indicated that it was reported stolen from Valleyfield, Quebec. Investigation also resulted in the seizure of a quantity of cash, fraudulent items (driver’s permit, credit card) and information relating to prostitution involvement.

The male driver, Kevin ZAMOR-LOUIS (20) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Possession of an Identity Document

– Possession of a Credit Card

– Material Benefit from Sexual Services

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

THEFT-FRAUD

(South Glengarry) – As a result of an ongoing investigation into reported (November 4, 2016) theft/fraud incidents, SD&G OPP has charged an adult female. Investigation indicated that between August and October 2016, the accused stole a quantity of earnings by fraudulent means from a business in the Village of Lancaster, South Glengarry Township.

Stephanie LAVIGNE (32) of Cornwall, Ontario is charged with;

– Theft Under $5000

– Fraud Over $5000

– Personation With Intent

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 8, 2017.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On January 18, 2017 at approximately 12:02pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Village of Long Sault, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse resulted in the female being threatened. The accused also caused damage within the home.

The 25-year-old male was arrested and is charged with;

– Uttering Threats – Spousal

– Mischief – Domestic

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 7, 2017. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DISTURBANCE

(North Glengarry) – On January 18, 2017 at approximately 3:14pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a business property on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male was in a confrontation with employees. Upon speaking to officers, the accused became resistant.

Patrick BEAUDIN (37) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Resist Peace Officer

– Fail to Leave Premises when Directed (Trespass to Property Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on February 8, 2017.

BREAK-IN

(North Glengarry) – Overnight (January 14-15, 2017) a residence situated on Catherine Fraser Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township was forcibly entered. Once inside, culprit(s) removed a large quantity of assorted jewellery.

An investigation continues.
