Robert BAXTER – Drunk Driving

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – On Sunday, January 29, 2017 at approximately 10:50 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on the Balsam Street off ramp.

When officers arrived, they observed a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the ditch. Upon speaking to the driver, officers determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.

Robert BAXTER, 45 years of age, from Kingfisher Lake First Nation was arrested and charged with:

-Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,

-Fail or Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample contrary to section 254(5) of the Criminal Code.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on March 7, 2017, to answer to the charges.
