Keith VANHAASTRECHT – Breach, Threats

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On February 5, 2017, at approximately 6:50 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the Foodland grocery store on Toronto Street South, Markdale, in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, after an employee of the store was threatened with bodily harm in the parking lot by an unknown male who had left the scene prior to police arrival. The 18-year old male victim was not injured.

On February 7, 2017 at approximately 4:00 a.m., police were called after the suspect returned to the store and became involved in a verbal and physical confrontation with another employee. The 25-year old male victim was not injured.

48-year old Keith VANHAASTRECHT, of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with three counts of uttering threats and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on February 8th. His next court appearance is February 9, 2017.
