(CALEDON, ON) – On Saturday, February 11, 2017 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of a red Kia driving erratically and passing vehicles dangerously in the Caledon area. The vehicle was observed passing aggressively and unsafely, as well as forcing vehicles off the road.
Caledon OPP is committed to improving public safety for all road users and we will not tolerate any form of aggressive driving.
As a result of the traffic stop, Zamiul HAQUE, 29, of Toronto was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 23, 2017.
Anyone charged with the offence of Dangerous Driving may be subject to upon conviction, a jail term of up to 5 years, a fine, a one year drivers licence suspension and a criminal record.
