Passed Out In Tim Horton’s Parking Lot Results In Charges

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 27-year-old male driver with drinking and driving offences after a investigating a complaint at a restaurant parking lot on Broad Street East in Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario.

On Sunday February 26, 2017 at 4:28 a.m., OPP, responded to the Tim Hortons parking lot after a concerned citizen reported that a male was slouched over the steering wheel in a vehicle, appearing to be asleep while the vehicle was running.

OPP located the male inside the vehicle and investigated. While police spoke with the male, signs of impairment were detected and the male was subsequently arrested.

OPP has charged 27-year-old William NIENDORF of Dunnville, Ontario with:

Care or Control of a motor vehicle while impaired, and

Care or Control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The vehicle was impounded for seven (7) days and the driver was served an automatic 90 day drivers licence suspension.

He is to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.

If convicted, offenders are subject to penalties under the Criminal Code of Canada including a fine or jail time as well as a driving prohibition.
